Seeing the presence of the authorities, many people present at the gambling den ran away, forcing the police to fire warning shots into the air. At the scene, the task force detained 176 people suspected of being involved in gambling, including pregnant women and women with young children.
The people present at the gambling den come from provinces and cities such as Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Bac Giang, Hanoi, Hai Duong... About half of them are women of the 6X and 7X generations.
According to Quang Ninh police, the gambling den was located far from the national highway. The operators always arranged for people to keep watch in multiple layers from a distance to avoid being raided by the authorities. This is the reason why Quang Ninh police had to use trains to investigate the case.
In addition to the money collected at the gambling den, the police also temporarily seized a large amount of money that the gamblers held in their hands and hidden on their bodies. Each person's money was sealed and brought back to headquarters.
