Recalling 2 gold medals for functional foods

Two "gold medals for community health" awarded by the association to Sen Slim Detox weight loss pills and Beauty 99 skin whitening pills have just been revoked.

Chairman of the Vietnam Functional Food Association Tran Dang has just decided to revoke two "gold medals for community health" that the association had awarded to Sen Slim Detox weight loss pills and Beauty 99 skin whitening pills.

These two products belong to TS VN Natural Company Limited, the company whose shipment worth 11 billion VND is being seized on suspicion of smuggling goods and falsifying the origin of some products.

Last July, the association awarded gold medals to these two products, however, "based on the serious violations of the law by the Vietnamese team after being awarded the gold medal" and to ensure the seriousness of the award, the association withdrew the medals.

According to information from the Department of Food Safety of the Ministry of Health, 4 products of TS VN have been granted quality certification by the department, including the 2 products mentioned above.

However, in the list of products being traded and confiscated, there are many types that are not on the licensed list and of unknown origin.

Last July, the company was also fined for being found selling three products of unknown origin. This was also the time when Sen Slim and Beauty 99 pills were awarded the "gold medal for community health".
