Recall of 80 BMW motorcycles imported and distributed by European company

Euro Auto Corporation is recalling defective products for repair and replacement under the name "Tightening the bearing bolt of the rear swingarm of BMW Motorrad R-Nite-T two-wheeled motorcycle".

The Department of Competition and Consumer Protection, Ministry of Industry and Trade confirmed that in September 2017, it received a report from Euro Auto Joint Stock Company on the Program to recall defective products for repair and replacement under the name "Tightening the bearing bolt of the rear swingarm of BMW Motorrad R-Nite-T two-wheeled motorcycle".

Euro Auto Corporation recalls BMW Motorrad R-Nite-T motorcycles to fix bolt defects.

Specifically as follows:

BMW Motorrad R-Nite-T was manufactured from August 2014 to November 2016. Euro Auto Corporation will implement the Defective Product Recall Program for Repair from September 27, 2017. The program will end when the above error is completely resolved for all vehicles, expected after 1 year.

Location for defect repair at PERFORMANCE MOTORS VIETNAM JSC No. 1 Ngo Gia Tu, Duc Giang Ward, Long Bien District, Hanoi City and 808 Nguyen Van Linh, Tan Phu Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.

The defect department will check the bolt tightening force and apply anti-loosening glue to the rear swingarm bearing thread joint.

The time to fix the vehicle defect is within 1 hour, the program is carried out free of charge for both labor and spare parts for all customers using vehicles subject to recall for repair.

According to Euro Auto Corporation, the recalled vehicles for repair/replacement and update have a phenomenon of the ability to tighten the threaded connection of the right-side bearing of the rear swing arm not being tight enough according to the standard. The reason is that during the quality analysis process at BMW Motorrad, it was found that on some R-Nite-T motorcycles, the threaded connection of the right-side bearing of the rear swing arm may not have enough tightening force according to the standard. This can negatively affect the vehicle's handling ability.

Accordingly, the rear swingarm of the motorcycle has the task of supporting and guiding the rear wheel, and is also the self-point for the rear shock absorber system.

If the right-side bearing thread joint of the rear swingarm is loose, it will greatly affect the safety factor when the vehicle is cornering, going over rough roads or decelerating. As a result, the steering performance will not be completely according to the driver, even causing a fall.

Euro Auto Corporation recommends that consumers quickly bring their vehicles to the company's authorized dealer for proper inspection and repair.
