This year, the entrance exam to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted had 1,291 candidates taking the exam in 11 specialized subjects including: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Literature, History, Geography, English, French, Russian. The school recruited 385 students, each specialized class had a maximum of 35 students.

Next school year, for the first time, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted will enroll 2 new specialized classes with 70 students, which are specialized classes in the fields of Natural Sciences (Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Foreign Languages ​​(English, Japanese).

According to the results announced by the Department of Education and Training, Tran Tu Quan - a student at Dang Thai Mai Secondary School - Vinh City, achieved the highest score of 19 points (math major). In this exam, Dang Thai Mai Secondary School is also the school with the largest number of admitted students and many students achieved the top and second place in many specialized subjects.

At the end of the exam, 9 students scored from 18.38 to 18.85; 50 students scored from 16-17.75; 163 students scored from 14 to 15.98 points and 215 students scored from 12 to 13.92 points.

However, the admission results for grade 10 of Phan Boi Chau High School are also based on the minimum scores of 3 subjects in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2017-2018 school year, which took place on June 6-7.

It is expected that by the end of this afternoon (June 17), the 10th grade entrance exam scores will be announced by the Department of Education and Training.
