Prime Minister issues directive to strengthen implementation of Law on prevention and control of harmful effects of alcohol and beer

Implementing the Law on Prevention and Control of Harmful Effects of Alcohol and Decree No. 100/2019/ND-CP dated December 30, 2019 of the Government regulating administrative sanctions in the field of road and railway traffic (Decree No. 100), recently, ministries, branches and localities have simultaneously deployed solutions to prevent people who have used alcohol and beer from driving vehicles, along with the strong and effective participation of media agencies. Thanks to that, the situation of traffic order and safety (TTATGT) has changed very positively, the awareness of law compliance of traffic participants has been raised, traffic accidents have decreased significantly, especially receiving the attention, sympathy and support of people nationwide.

To promote the achieved results and at the same time seriously and effectively implement Decree No. 100 during the Lunar New Year of Canh Ty, 2020 and the following years, on January 16, the Prime Minister signed and issued Directive No. 03/CT-TTg on strengthening the implementation of the Law on Prevention and Control of Harmful Effects of Alcohol and Beer and Decree No. 100/2019/ND-CP of the Government regulating administrative sanctions in the field of road and railway traffic.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches, People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to direct competent agencies to coordinate with the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to promote the dissemination of the Law on Prevention and Control of Harmful Effects of Alcohol and Beer, Decree No. 100 in diverse and rich forms to all classes of people. Particularly emphasizing the humane significance of the provisions in the Law on Prevention and Control of Harmful Effects of Alcohol and Beer and the preventive and warning nature to help raise awareness and reduce violations of the law on traffic safety in Decree No. 100.
