Prime Minister: Trade unions must promptly protect workers' rights
Thủ tướng yêu cầu công đoàn Việt Nam cần xây dựng đội ngũ cán bộ chuyên nghiệp, không bị suy thoái về tư tưởng chính trị, đạo đức.
Sáng 28/7, phát biểu tại lễ kỷ niệm 90 năm thành lập Công đoàn Việt Nam tổ chức ở Hà Nội, Thủ tướng Nguyễn Xuân Phúc cho rằng, Công đoàn là tổ chức chính trị xã hội tiên phong trong xây dựng, chỉnh đốn, bảo vệ Đảng, bảo vệ chế độ, là chỗ dựa vững chắc và cầu nối giữa công nhân, người lao động với Đảng và Nhà nước.
Tổng Liên đoàn Lao động Việt Nam đã sáng tạo, đề xuất và tổ chức nhiều hoạt động có ý nghĩa thiết thực như "Tết sum vầy", "Tháng công nhân", tổ chức gặp gỡ, đối thoại hàng năm giữa Thủ tướng với công nhân.
Nhân dịp này, Thủ tướng nêu một số vấn đề về công tác đổi mới xây dựng Công đoàn. Các cấp công đoàn, trước hết là Tổng Liên đoàn Lao động Việt Nam phải tiếp tục nắm bắt tình hình việc làm, thu nhập, đời sống, lắng nghe tâm tư của người lao động để xây dựng kế hoạch công tác sát với thực tế.

The Prime Minister emphasized that trade unions need to proactively participate in building policies on employment, wages, labor, social insurance, occupational safety and hygiene, and building a safe working environment; ensuring the health of workers, promptly supporting and protecting the rights of workers in collective and individual labor disputes.
Finally, Vietnamese trade unions need to focus on building a team of professional, courageous, intelligent, and responsible union officials who are not politically degraded and have adequate qualities and abilities.

90 years ago, on July 28, 1929, the Northern Red General Confederation of Labor, the predecessor of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, was established, marking the growth of the Vietnamese workers' movement and trade union activities, as a result of Nguyen Ai Quoc's labor movement and dissemination of revolutionary trade union theory.
