Prime Minister attends Da Nang Investment Forum 2017

On the morning of October 15, at the Ariyana Convention Center, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended the Da Nang Investment Forum 2017 (IDF 2017) to introduce the city's development prospects with new investment opportunities as well as specific investment incentive policies.

The Forum was also attended by leaders of ministries, sectors and localities; ambassadors of countries in Vietnam and leaders of international organizations; representatives of business organizations in APEC economies; investors, enterprises, banks and representatives of domestic and foreign business associations...

Speaking at the opening of the Forum, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Truong Quang Nghia said: "Talking about Da Nang means talking about a young, dynamic city; a green, clean, beautiful city; an attractive tourist destination in Central Vietnam".

Da Nang city's infrastructure is the most synchronous and modern in the Central region with a container port with a capacity of 12 million tons of cargo; an international airport capable of receiving 12 million passengers and 50,000 tons of cargo per year; 6 industrial parks, 1 high-tech park and 1 concentrated information technology park in operation.

Da Nang's information technology infrastructure is the most modern in the country. For 8 consecutive years (from 2009 to 2016), the city has always led the country in the Vietnam ICT Index.

Da Nang is also the education and training center of the Central region with a fairly comprehensive training system including 24 universities and colleges, 19 professional high schools and 59 vocational training centers. Abundant human resources accounting for 70% of the population, young and highly skilled is a great advantage of Da Nang in attracting investment.

“The investment and business environment in Da Nang is constantly improving towards openness and transparency with attractive investment incentive policies,” said Secretary of the City Party Committee Truong Quang Nghia.

Da Nang City was voted by the business community as the place with the best business environment in Vietnam, leading the country in the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) 7 times, leading localities in the Public Administration Reform Index - PAR INDEX from 2013 to 2016, and being in the group of localities with the highest rankings in the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) for 6 consecutive years from 2011-2016.

“At the 2017 Investment Forum today, Da Nang City wishes to introduce to guests and the domestic and foreign business community the development prospects of the City with new investment opportunities and specific investment incentive policies,” said Mr. Truong Quang Nghia.

This is also an opportunity for businesses to propose ideas to the Government leaders as well as the City leaders to have guidance and solutions to remove barriers and obstacles in the investment and business process. Da Nang City hopes to welcome more and more tourists and investors to visit and decide to invest and do business in the city, Mr. Truong Quang Nghia expressed.
