German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that despite differences over the situation in Ukraine, it was important not to let negotiations with Russia break down.
“It is important that, despite serious differences of opinion, we do not let the negotiations with Russia break down,” Scholz said in an interview published on Saturday with the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper.
At the same time, Scholz avoided directly answering the question of whether he could imagine visiting Moscow in 2023. According to Scholz, Russia must end its special military operation in Ukraine.
