German Chancellor: No chance for Britain to reverse decision to leave EU
On the evening of June 28 (local time), German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that there is no longer a chance to reverse the UK's decision to leave the European Union (EU).
Speaking at the end of the first day of the EU summit in Brussels, Belgium, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that her talks with British Prime Minister Cameron were “tense” but “friendly”. According to Ms. Merkel, this is not a time to be sad because it is simply a matter of Europe dealing with the situations that need to be faced.

Previously, British Prime Minister Cameron affirmed that Britain will not hold a second referendum on the country's future in the European Union (EU).
According to Prime Minister Cameron, the possibility of the country holding a second referendum is “very remote”. “The result of the referendum is now decisive. The most important thing for the Cabinet now is to discuss options to make the result of the referendum a reality.
Just two days after the official results of the referendum on Britain's membership of the EU were announced, nearly three million people signed a petition on the British parliament's website, demanding a second referendum on whether Britain should leave or stay in the EU.
British Finance Minister George Osbourne said that Britain should not rush to withdraw from the European Union (EU) when the Prime Minister's seat is still vacant. According to Mr. Osbourne, the new British Prime Minister will be the one to activate the terms of Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, which determines the country's membership in the EU, not Mr. Cameron, who will leave office next October./.
