Prime Minister meets with typical overseas Vietnamese businesses in the United States
During his working trip to the United States, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh worked with leaders of typical overseas Vietnamese businesses in San Francisco.

According to information from the meeting, these are successful overseas Vietnamese businesses in many fields. American society has recognized that there are more and more successful Vietnamese people in many fields, including Vietnamese businesses with a scale of hundreds of millions of USD, even billions of USD.
Business leaders highly appreciated Vietnam's increasingly improved and open investment and business environment, the correct leadership and management of the Party and State, and the dynamic, close and drastic direction and administration of the Government and Prime Minister; expressed their joy at the new progress of the Vietnam-US relationship, thereby creating many new opportunities for trade and investment activities; shared about the operation situation and plans, investment and cooperation projects in the coming time in Vietnam.
Business leaders affirmed that the Vietnamese community here is very dynamic, people and businesses are united, looking towards their homeland and wanting to contribute more to the development of the country and the relationship between the two countries.
Sharing with business leaders, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the significance of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Joe Biden's announcement to upgrade Vietnam-US relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, reflecting the stature of the relationship, in line with the interests of the people of the two countries and actively contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam-US relations have developed on all three levels: bilateral, regional and international after nearly 30 years of normalization of relations and 10 years of establishing a comprehensive partnership, in which economy - trade - investment continues to be a bright spot and driving force of bilateral relations with two-way turnover reaching over 123 billion USD by 2022.
Vietnam has identified innovation as the driving force for Vietnam's economic development in the period up to 2030, with a vision to 2045. Vietnam and the United States have agreed to make technology, innovation and investment truly become important new pillars of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized: "Promoting economic - trade - investment cooperation in the direction of innovation is the foundation, focus and driving force of the bilateral relationship; enhancing scientific - technological cooperation is a new breakthrough of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership".
The Prime Minister highly appreciated the overseas Vietnamese business community's increasing contributions to the development of the Vietnamese economy and increased investment in the Vietnamese market. To date, overseas Vietnamese have had 385 investment projects in Vietnam with a total registered capital of more than 1.7 billion USD and contributed capital to thousands of enterprises in Vietnam. This is a huge source of capital that actively serves the socio-economic development of Vietnam.
The Prime Minister affirmed that our Party and State have policies and guidelines that show concern and care for the Vietnamese community abroad; creating a foundation to consolidate the great national unity bloc and help our compatriots have a solid legal status, stabilize their lives, and actively contribute to the cause of national construction and the relationship between the two countries; continuing to affirm the importance of promoting the resources of overseas Vietnamese businessmen.

The Prime Minister suggested that the overseas Vietnamese business community further promote the achievements after nearly 30 years of normalization of relations and 10 years of establishing the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries, make the most of the great opportunities from the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries; pay more attention to the Vietnamese market and cooperate with domestic enterprises; become a bridge to help Vietnam participate more deeply in the global supply chain; operate in accordance with the law, thereby contributing to the development of the United States, Vietnam and the relationship between the two countries.
The Prime Minister asked businesses to focus on a number of areas such as innovation, digital transformation, green transformation, circular economy, sharing economy, climate change response, etc., to create new development momentum. The Prime Minister said he would mention these contents in discussions with leaders of the United States and San Francisco.
At the meeting, the Prime Minister and leaders of ministries and sectors informed about a number of new policies related to immigration, labor, etc. to create more favorable conditions for foreign investors, especially overseas Vietnamese. The Government will continue to direct the implementation of three strategic breakthroughs in institutions, infrastructure and human resource development to realize development goals, while also creating a more favorable environment for Vietnamese businessmen in the United States to contribute to the development of Vietnam, as well as the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the United States.
Regarding the wishes and proposals of businesses, the Prime Minister shared and acknowledged the opinions and will request relevant ministries, branches and agencies to focus on reviewing, researching and soon having appropriate solutions in a timely and thorough spirit.
