Prime Minister meets with leaders of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and National People's Congress

This afternoon, September 12, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had a meeting with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhang Dejiang and Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Yu Zhengsheng.

The two sides expressed their delight at the positive development trend of the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in recent times; high-level contacts and exchanges have been maintained regularly, especially the mutual visits by the two General Secretaries of the two Parties in 2015, identifying major directions for the development of relations between the two Parties and the two countries.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed Vietnam's consistent policy of attaching importance to developing friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive cooperation with China; welcomed Comrade Zhang Dejiang's visit to Vietnam this year to discuss strengthening cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the National People's Congress of China; emphasized that the exchange and cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the National People's Congress of China plays an extremely important role in enhancing political trust and mutual understanding, actively contributing to improving the effectiveness of the two sides' legislative bodies, perfecting the building of a socialist rule-of-law state as well as the Party's leadership over the state.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his hope that in the coming time, the National Assembly agencies of the two countries will continue to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, expand practical cooperation; enhance the exchange of information and experience in the activities of the National Assembly; promote the supervisory role of the two Governments in implementing signed agreements, to promote the substantive cooperation between the two countries to continuously develop stably, healthily and sustainably; strengthen coordination and cooperation within the framework of regional and international inter-parliamentary forums, ensuring the effectiveness and high enforceability of international treaties.

Chairman Truong Duc Giang expressed his pleasure at welcoming Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to visit; congratulated Vietnam on successfully organizing the 14th National Assembly session and electing the new leadership; affirmed that the Party, State and people of China always attach importance to consolidating and developing the friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam; emphasized that China and Vietnam have many similarities, are both focusing on socio-economic development, and developing the relationship between the two countries under the motto of "friendly neighborliness, comprehensive cooperation, long-term stability, and looking towards the future" is in line with the interests of the two Parties, two countries and two peoples; expressed his pleasure at leading a high-ranking delegation of the Party, Government and National People's Congress of China to visit Vietnam in November 2016. He hoped that during the visit, he would join Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and other senior Vietnamese leaders to continue discussing measures to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the National People's Congress of China and the National Assembly of Vietnam; exchange experiences in legislative work and state management according to the law, and make practical contributions to promoting the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam to continuously develop.

Also on the afternoon of September 12, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Yu Zhengsheng.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc conveyed the regards of senior leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, and Vietnam Fatherland Front to Comrade Yu Zhengsheng; congratulated and emphasized that the great achievements in socio-economic development and comprehensive reform that the Party, Government, and people of China have achieved in recent times are due to the important contributions of the Chinese National People's Congress.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appreciated the close cooperation between the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in recent times and hoped that in the coming time, the two sides will continue to coordinate closely and effectively promote their roles in promoting exchanges and cooperation in all fields between the two countries; promoting friendly exchanges between people of all walks of life, consolidating a solid social foundation for the two sides to promote substantive cooperation fields as well as satisfactorily resolve outstanding issues in bilateral relations.

Chairman of the CPPCC Yu Zhengsheng expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and asked Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to convey his regards to senior leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front; affirmed that the Party, Government, and people of China have consistently adhered to the motto of good-neighborly friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term stability, and looking toward the future to preserve and continuously promote the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam, and constantly strive to bring the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries to continue to develop stably, healthily, and sustainably; agreed to maintain close exchanges between the Chinese CPPCC and the Vietnam Fatherland Front, promote exchanges and cooperation between social organizations and people of all walks of life of the two countries, consolidate mutual trust and understanding, and make positive contributions to the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries.
