Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev ready for new term
(Baonghean) - Speaking at the State Duma press conference, clearly defining his responsibilities in the coming time, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev affirmed his readiness to do anything for the country's development; at the same time, he also thanked President Vladimir Putin for his trust and continued selection of him as Prime Minister for the new term.

Congratulating all Russians on Victory Day, Prime Minister Medvedev emphasized: “We are the successors of the victories of previous generations. The Russian country and people not only know how to fight in times of war, but also know how to win important victories in times of peace.”
Pointing out what needs to be done immediately, the Russian Prime Minister said that creating a breakthrough in quality in all areas, from economy, society, building optimal infrastructure, to living and working opportunities for everyone is the top goal of the new Government, aiming to bring a decent life to all people, all regions of the country.
According to him, the success of the Government can only be assessed when all people have a job they love and enjoy quality education and healthcare. The Russian Prime Minister emphasized that the new government "must take action, especially in reforming all levels of government, so that all suggestions and needs of the people are listened to and resolved quickly.
Prime Minister Medvedev set out important tasks in maintaining macroeconomic stability. Accordingly, in the new term, Russia's economic growth rate must be higher than the world average, inflation must be lower than 4%; digital development, increasing the rate of companies with technological innovation, aiming to orient this as one of the core industries.
The new government of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will face ambitious tasks outlined in the May Decree signed by President Putin on May 7 on Russia's development strategy for the next six years.
Accordingly, the new cabinet will have to draft and implement 12 national programs worth 8,000 billion rubles (about 140 billion USD), with the goal of increasing the life expectancy of Russian people, increasing housing construction and accelerating economic growth.
To do that, Prime Minister Medvedev pointed out, clear planning, financial resources, human resources and effective mechanisms are the main factors determining Russia's development.
Under Russian law, Dmitry Medvedev has one week to form a cabinet whose members will include representatives of all parties in parliament.
The key positions of the new Government were nominated by Mr. Dmitry Medvedev on May 7. Accordingly, Mr. Anton Siluanov was nominated as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr. Vitaly Mutko was nominated as Deputy Prime Minister in charge of construction, Ms. Olga Golodets - Deputy Prime Minister in charge of sports and Deputy Minister of Defense Yuri Borisov as Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Defense Industry.
