Reporting to the Prime Minister, the investor said that Than Vu tunnel is 1,131m long, with 2 tubes 45m apart. The right tunnel branch is 1,108.9m long, 315m of which has been constructed, with a completion rate of 31.65%; The left tunnel branch is 1,053.1m long, 217.4m of which has been constructed, with a completion rate of 20.64%. It is expected that the tunnel will be opened by October 2023 and completed by early November 2023.

Due to the complex geological structure of the southern tunnel area, the construction progress of the southern tunnel cannot be accelerated. In the near future, when entering the tunnel with better geological layers, the construction progress will be accelerated. Therefore, the tunnel construction time is expected to be earlier than the proposed time.

After completing the tunnel, with beautiful terrain and natural landscape, the Prime Minister suggested that the Ministry of Transport coordinate with the consulting unit to study and build rest stops at both ends of the tunnel so that people passing by can stop to sightsee and take photos, both promoting the image of the country and helping the locality to exploit the service.
