Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh leaves for COP26 Conference, working visit to UK and official visit to France
On October 31, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation leaving Hanoi to attend the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26), pay a working visit to the United Kingdom, and pay an official visit to the French Republic.

At the invitation of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Boris Johnson and Prime Minister of the French Republic Jean Castex,Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinhwill attend the COP26 Conference and pay a working visit to the UK from October 31 to November 3, and pay an official visit to the French Republic from November 3 to November 5.

Leaders representing: Government Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Health; Central Propaganda Department, Central Foreign Affairs Department, Central Economic Committee, State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology; Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Nguyen Hoang Long and Vietnamese Ambassador to the French Republic Dinh Toan Thang joined the delegation.
After nearly 2 years of the COVID-19 pandemic breaking out globally, the Prime Minister's trip has many important goals and meanings with many activities both at multilateral forums and bilateral contacts, combined with meetings with the Vietnamese community and businesses.
The Prime Minister's participation in the COP26 Summit demonstrates the determination and efforts of the Vietnamese Government in promoting and implementing international commitments, especially on global issues that are of particular interest to the international community, demonstrating that Vietnam is an active member and a reliable and responsible partner of the international community. This is also an opportunity for Vietnam to promote cooperation with bilateral partners, international organizations and other multilateral partners, seek opportunities to receive financial and technological support, and enhance capacity for climate change response in Vietnam.
The Prime Minister’s working visit to the UK will promote the further development of the Vietnam-UK strategic partnership. The Prime Minister will also have many meetings with large British businesses and corporations, and attend forums on the investment and business environment in Vietnam to inform about our important economic policies and strengthen confidence and attract more investment capital from investors, businesses and international partners.
Immediately after the COP26 Conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will pay an official visit to the French Republic - a strategic partner of Vietnam and also an important member of the EU. France is currently the 4th largest trading partner, the 2nd largest investor and the leading ODA donor for Vietnam in the EU. This is the first official bilateral visit to a European country that the Prime Minister has made since taking office, which is of great significance in further promoting the strategic partnership between the two countries to become increasingly deeper and more substantial.
