SLNA has not selected any players yet after testing 5 foreign players.

(Baonghean.vn) - In the two friendly matches against Hai Phong to prepare for the second leg of V.League 2017, SLNA gave foreign players a chance to try their hand. However, all were not as expected by SLNA's coaching staff.

Since regrouping to prepare for the return leg of V.League 2017, SLNA has tested a total of 5 foreign players. Of which, 3 are from Africa and 2 are from America. All of them have quite good physiques, however, compared to the current domestic players of SLNA and Olaha Micheal, they cannot show superiority in technique.

SLNA head coach Nguyen Duc Thang said: “The foreign players who have just come for a trial do not meet the requirements. SLNA’s domestic players are of good quality, but they still have weaknesses when it comes to taking on the task of competing. That is why teams in the V.League are focusing on two foreign strikers. In the next few days, SLNA will try out 5-6 more players to find the best quality players.”

Currently, the above mentioned foreign players who have been on trial for SLNA have returned home. There is only about 1 month left for the Nghe An team to finalize their list of foreign players.

Foreign player Henry, who scored 6 goals for SLNA in the first leg, was not retained by SLNA, causing many SLNA fans to feel regretful. The Trinidad & Tobago player only signed a half-year contract and the decision not to extend the contract with this player shows the team's determination to improve the quality of foreign players in the second leg.

However, this makes SLNA quite confused when on June 4, coach Nguyen Duc Thang and his team have to compete in the National Cup against Hanoi and the time for trial and selection is only about 1 month left./.
