On the afternoon of August 15, the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghe An province had a meeting with Nghi Loc district when 3 new community infections appeared in this area.

Attending the meeting were representatives of the Department of Health, Nghe An Center for Disease Control and the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghi Loc district.

There are 3 cases and at least 135 F1 cases

According to the report of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghi Loc district, from August 14 to now, 3 Covid-19 patients have appeared in the area. Including:

1. Patient D.VL, male, born in 1992. Occupation: North-South driver. Address: Nghi Dong commune, Nghi Loc district. The patient completed centralized isolation at Nghi Dong Kindergarten, then returned home for isolation and on the 7th day, tested positive for SARS-COV-2 virus.

2. Patient HTH, female, born in 1991. Address: Nghi Dong commune, Nghi Loc. The patient is the wife of patient D.VL. On the morning of August 14, after receiving information that her husband had tested positive for SARS-COV-2 virus, the patient was transferred to quarantine at Nghi Dong Kindergarten, and had samples taken for testing and sent to CDC. On the afternoon of August 14, the results were confirmed positive for SARS-COV-2 virus... Patient HTH works as a delivery person and has contact with many people.

3. Patient NTL, female, born in 1983. Address: Hamlet 5, Nghi Thach Commune, Nghi Loc District. The patient often goes to trade atVinh wholesale market, Khanh Hop Market, Cua Lo Specialty Market. The patient had a crowded religious activity.

Through investigation and tracing, Nghi Loc district has found 11 F1 cases of patient D.VL; 103 F1 cases of patient H.TH and 25 F1 cases of patient NTL... Currently, Nghi Loc district is continuing to investigate and trace related cases; propagandize for people to come to make medical declarations; take samples for testing.

Nghi Loc district has conducted rapid testing and collected PCR samples for related people; issued a decision to implement social distancing according to Directive 15 for Nghi Dong and Nghi Phuong communes and 4 hamlets in Nghi Thach commune; implemented social isolation according to Directive 16 for hamlet 8, Nghi Dong commune... to prevent Covid-19.

Step up investigation and tracing of related people

At the meeting, the delegates focused on analyzing the epidemic situation in the area. Accordingly, at this time, Nghi Loc district is facing many difficulties in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic, namely: The district is quarantining more than 1,400 people returning from the epidemic area; the number of people returning from the epidemic area is continuing to increase; according to statistics, the district has 159 people related to the Vinh Wholesale Market outbreak in 14 communes...

Concluding the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, Director of the Department of HealthNghe AnComment: Nghi Loc district has had cases of infection in the community; there is cross-infection from quarantine areas to the community; there is a large number of citizens returning from epidemic areas... Nghi Loc has many potential risks of causing the Covid-19 epidemic to spread; it is one of the two "hottest" localities in the province at this time.

The Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghe An province has decided to implement social distancing according to Directive 15 for Nghi Loc district from 12 noon on August 15. Nghi Loc district will calculate and decide appropriately for communes and hamlets implementing social distancing and isolation - Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh stated.

The Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control requested Nghi Loc district to immediately implement solutions to prevent and control Covid-19, which are: Step up investigation and tracing of F1, expand time to detect more subjects; implement wide zoning, and fight the epidemic scientifically.

Nghi Loc district also needs to learn from experience in managing quarantine and controlling people returning from epidemic areas; strengthen inspections of quarantine areas and localities implementing social distancing and isolation; develop scenarios for Covid-19 prevention and control, taking into account the worst possible situations; proactively prevent and control the epidemic according to the 4 on-site motto./.
