However, it's best to limit or avoid consuming the following foods regularly because they can increase the risk of serious diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and even some cancers, according to naturalnews.
Salt.According to the American Heart Association, sodium intake should be less than 1,500 mg and no more than 2,300 mg per day. Research shows that many people consume 1.5 teaspoons (or 8,500 mg) of salt daily, equivalent to about 3,400 mg of sodium per day. While our bodies need sodium, too much salt can increase the risk of high blood pressure, stroke, and heart disease.
Baked sweets.Cakes, donuts, snacks, and baked goods contain high amounts of sugar, processed carbohydrates, unhealthy fats, and salt. Therefore, you should limit your consumption of these foods.
Processed meat and high in fat.Processed meats such as sausages, ham, and bacon contain high levels of salt and unhealthy fats. Therefore, their consumption should be limited.
Foods containing sugar. All processed foods containing added sugar can cause blood sugar levels to rise. Adding sugar to a healthy diet can also lead you to eat less fiber and fewer other important nutrients.
Eating healthily doesn't mean completely eliminating the aforementioned foods. If you crave a scoop of fruit ice cream, you can occasionally have one without any problems. But the important thing is to avoid making it a daily habit.
