PEOPLE CELEBRATE TET, HAPPY SPRING, SAFE, HEALTHY, AND ECONOMICAL

Implementing the Directives of the Party Central Committee Secretariat and the Prime Minister on strengthening measures to ensure a joyful, healthy, safe and economical Lunar New Year 2021, Nghe An province has issued many documents to direct all levels and sectors to organize implementation.

On that basis, sectors, units and localities, based on their assigned functions and tasks, have issued specific plans and schemes to proactively organize and implement.

According to general assessment, the preparation of goods for Tet is thoughtful, quality is guaranteed, prices are stable, meeting the people's need for essential goods.

All levels and sectors have paid much attention to organizing the Spring Festival and New Year celebrations for policy beneficiaries, disadvantaged families, lonely elderly people, homeless children, homeless homeless children, and those in especially difficult circumstances; no households are hungry during the New Year; people celebrate the New Year and Spring joyfully, healthily, safely, and economically.

The total budget for Tet gifts for meritorious people and social protection beneficiaries from the State budget; gifts from units, businesses and individuals to meritorious people, the poor, the elderly, social protection beneficiaries and children in especially difficult circumstances on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Tan Suu is more than 144.3 billion VND.

Of which, the provincial budget spent more than 55.3 billion VND to give Tet gifts to people with meritorious services to the revolution and social beneficiaries in a timely manner. In addition, rice support for hungry households was fully allocated.

In particular, in addition to resources from the State budget, Nghe An has effectively implemented the work of calling for and mobilizing resources from society to support and care for the poor during Tet. Implementing the Provincial Party Secretary's Letter of Appeal for Support and Help for the Poor to Celebrate the 2021 Lunar New Year, Nghe An has mobilized over 92 billion VND, the highest ever.

According to the synthesis from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, up to now, the whole province has had 113,562 poor households and other subjects receiving Tet gifts from support sources with an amount of over 72 billion VND.

Comrade Le Van Ngoc - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province affirmed at the meeting: This year, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province directly compiled from the recipients of Tet gifts from the Fund for the Poor, so the number of recipients is the real number, there is no phenomenon of duplicate recipients or virtual data. In addition, the remaining mobilized resources at the Fund for the Poor at three levels (province, district, commune) will be allocated to serve social security work, taking care of livelihood models for the poor right after Tet.

Nghe An has also focused on drastically implementing the Prime Minister's direction on Covid-19 prevention and control; especially monitoring, controlling, and quarantining people from other localities and foreigners coming to Nghe An during Tet. To date, no cases of Covid-19 infection have been recorded in the province.

Political security and social order and safety are well ensured, key targets are absolutely protected.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department highly appreciated the organization and activities to welcome the Lunar New Year in the province, which were both peaceful and economical, while also paying attention to social security activities; space, decoration, and environmental sanitation in the province were well implemented. The work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic was given attention and well implemented. In the coming time, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department suggested that it is necessary to continue to strengthen the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic among the people.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh highly appreciated the results of organizing the traditional New Year 2021 in the province, especially in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic, the grassroots levels have had strong direction, along with the awareness and high consensus in implementing policies of the people to ensure a safe and warm New Year.

After listening to the reports and opinions, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy concluded the meeting; thereby affirming that the 2021 Lunar New Year in the province took place peacefully and warmly, without any serious or unexpected problems.

That comes from the exciting atmosphere after the success of the 13th National Congress of the Party; along with the province's socio-economic situation in 2020 having many bright spots in the general context and the general level of the whole country, positively affecting the psychology and emotions of the people.

Besides, to achieve the above results, propaganda work was carried out methodically and systematically, creating an exciting atmosphere; at the same time, people's awareness of celebrating Tet was quite good.

The Provincial Party Secretary assessed that the province has done a very good job in preparing for traffic regulation, services, transportation, electricity, water, goods, and necessities to serve people from the highlands to the lowlands, from urban to mountainous areas. Social security activities and policies for the subjects have been carried out methodically with great affection and responsibility of the entire political system.

In particular, the head of the Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated the functional forces such as the police, army, health, environmental sanitation, etc. who worked responsibly and seriously throughout Tet, and were on duty regularly to take care of the people to ensure a warm and peaceful Tet.

Regarding the upcoming tasks, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy requested that after Tet, it is necessary to immediately get to work, emphasizing some contents that need to be learned from to perform better, such as: the situation of setting off firecrackers has decreased but still exists.

Besides, in the face of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, the province must pay utmost attention to epidemic prevention and control work in the spirit of absolute vigilance.

"The entire political system must get involved, raise vigilance, raise awareness and monitor the community," said the head of the Provincial Party Committee; at the same time, request to strengthen propaganda, warnings and recommendations for the people.

The Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control must update the situation daily and handle situations promptly and quickly; must always be in a state of action to promptly make correct and accurate decisions if a situation arises; at the same time, grasp information and closely coordinate with the Central Government and other provinces and cities.

Also due to the impact of the new wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is forecasted that this year will continue to be a difficult year. Therefore, the Provincial Party Secretary requested that right after Tet, we must focus on immediately implementing work and tasks to develop the economy and society.

In particular, in the above context, the agricultural sector is still identified as the support for the provincial economy, so it must proactively carry out tasks, especially focusing on directing production immediately because the progress of planting some crops is still very low; at the same time, pay attention to the work of preventing and controlling diseases on crops and livestock.

Besides, for the industrial and construction sectors, identified projects need to be prioritized for rapid implementation to free up resources and contribute to growth.

The Provincial Party Secretary also requested to review the Central Government's tax policies and the province's policies to consider within its authority, research on tax exemption, reduction, debt extension, and late payment for the business community amid the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The head of the Provincial Party Committee also requested to focus on implementing the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term in accordance with regulations, ensuring objectivity and democracy while selecting quality deputies.

Along with that, it is necessary to carry out specific tasks to realize the Resolution and Action Program to implement the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, especially in 2021, it is necessary to basically complete the development and promulgation of implementation programs and projects./.
