Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong appointed as Director of the General Department of Politics

Yesterday afternoon, at the General Department of Politics (GDC) of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), Standing member of the Secretariat Dinh The Huynh presented the decision assigning Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, to assume the position of Director of the General Department of Politics of the VPA.

Standing member of the Secretariat Dinh The Huynh emphasized that Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong is a capable and experienced leader, having held the positions of Political Commissar of Army Corps 2, Political Commissar of Military Region 3, and Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.

The Senior Lieutenant General is a member of the Party Central Committee, terms 11 and 12.

Standing member of the Secretariat Dinh The Huynh believes that, with the trust of the Central Executive Committee and the assignment of the Politburo, along with his extensive working experience, Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong will continue to promote his capacity, strengths and dynamism and creativity to join the leaders of the General Department, the collective of cadres, party members, civil servants and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army General Staff to successfully complete their tasks.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong respectfully thanked the Party, State and Army for entrusting him with the task of being the Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

He vowed to do his best to actively study, cultivate, train, inherit and promote the fine tradition of more than 70 years of building, fighting and growing of the Vietnam People's Army General Department and the rich and valuable experience of the previous General Department Directors; strive to fulfill the tasks well, contribute to building a politically strong Army, making the Army always a political force, a fighting force that is trustworthy and absolutely loyal to the Party, State, people and socialist regime.
