Traffic Police Lieutenant gradually recovering after car crash
Doctors determined that the cervical vertebra fracture and meningeal hemorrhage of Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Trong Quy (Hai Phong) were not life-threatening.
On the afternoon of July 10, after a day of treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of Viet Tiep Hospital in Hai Phong, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Trong Quy (41 years old) was conscious, able to communicate, and had his neck immobilized.
Director of Nguyen Van Tap Hospital said that Mr. Quy had a fractured cervical vertebra, not a rupture as initially reported, a brain hemorrhage and a dislocated arm. These injuries are not life-threatening, and the patient's health is progressing well.

Do Van Thang (16 years old, resident of Thai Son commune, An Lao district), the person driving the Air Blade motorbike that hit Lieutenant Quy, was transferred to Kien An General Hospital by An Lao district police after suffering an injury to the top of his head.
At the time of the accident, Thang was driving at 61 km/h, while Provincial Road 354 through residential areas only allows speeds under 50 km/h. Hai Phong City Police are waiting for the results of the injury assessment of Senior Lieutenant Quy to serve as a basis for handling Thang.
At 11:00 a.m. on July 9, a traffic police team from An Lao District Police (Hai Phong) was on duty on Provincial Road 354, passing through My Duc Commune (An Lao District). Discovering a young man riding a motorbike at high speed without a helmet, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Trong Quy signaled for the vehicle to stop, but the man crashed into him.
The strong collision caused Lieutenant Quy to fall face down on the road, unconscious.
