Thuy Tien denies asking Ms. Phuong Hang to pay 14 billion VND in mental compensation
Singer Thuy Tien emphasized that mental damage cannot be compensated with money.
On the evening of April 7, on her fanpage with more than 10 million followers, Thuy Tien suddenly posted that the information that she and her husband asked Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang to compensate 44 billion VND was "incorrect information". At the same time, the female singer emphasized that she did not ask for compensation for mental damage of 14 billion VND as the information being spread.
Thuy Tien said she only asked for compensation for material and economic damages that Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang had caused to the management company. All evidence of the amount of damage was sent to the investigation agency by the singer's lawyer.
"This is the amount of money that the management company had all of its brand partners cancel their signed contracts. Some partners even sued our company and asked for compensation for damages, even though in this incident I did nothing wrong or violated any legal ethics," Cong Vinh's wife wrote.

Thuy Tien further clarified that she did not ask for an apology from Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang as some information spread because: "Even an apology cannot compensate for the huge psychological damage that my family and I are suffering."
"Material damage can be compensated, but mental damage is the damage caused and no amount of money or apology can compensate, so I do not ask for compensation for mental damage," the female singer emphasized.

On April 6, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency concluded its investigation and proposed that the same-level People's Procuracy prosecute Nguyen Phuong Hang (52 years old, General Director of Dai Nam Joint Stock Company) and four accomplices for the crime of "Abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State and the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals."
The case file records that 10 victims requested defendant Nguyen Phuong Hang to compensate for damages. In particular, Thuy Tien and Cong Vinh requested Ms. Hang and her accomplices to compensate for material losses of 30.4 billion VND and compensate for a sum of money for mental damage caused by insulting statements made against Ms. Tien and Mr. Vinh.
