Midfielder Do Hung Dung expressed his determination to win against the Indian team in the upcoming FIFA Days match in October 2024.

On the afternoon of October 5, the Vietnamese team had its first training session to prepare for the friendly match with the Indian team. Before the training session, midfielder Do Hung Dung shared with the media about the plans of the Vietnamese team.

''Coach Kim Sang-sik always said that age should not be judged. So we will not mention young players, old players, experienced players. The team is the team, a collection of players trusted by the coach. Everyone will focus on completing the assigned task, regardless of age,'' midfielder Hung Dung opened the interview.

Talking about the upcoming friendly match plan, the captain of the Vietnam team said: ''For the national team, the more matches the better. Even if we practice for a few weeks or months, it is not as good as 1 or 2 matches. Even if we meet 3 or 4 teams, it is even better. Only when we compete can we make mistakes, thereby overcoming our strengths and weaknesses to be able to progress. The Vietnam team really needs such matches, whether it is against another team or a V.League club. We need to compete''.

Talking about striker Van Quyet's return to the national team, Hung Dung said that Van Quyet is a role model for all players in Vietnam.

''Van Quyet also rarely shares with the media, but his efforts are shown on the football field. To maintain his form for more than 10 years like that is really difficult. For a player who is always diligent, makes great contributions to Hanoi Club, and is trusted by coach Kim Sang-sik, Van Quyet is truly a role model for all players in Vietnam. Everyone looks to see how he maintains his form, continues to progress, and develops himself despite his quite old age.

I think everyone is the same, we all have to wait for our chance. The important thing is how we seize the opportunity when it comes. I think not only me or Van Quyet but all players always maintain, keep the fire, keep the passion and desire to be on the national team. Of course, whether we can shine or not also depends on the opportunity. Sometimes the opportunity comes but the timing is not right.

I think it is very difficult to learn from Van Quyet, because each individual has a different story, and you cannot tell one player to learn from another. But sharing about competitive spirit, lifestyle, or simply how to behave with the media, young players should learn, from there they can keep calm, focus on playing, and not be influenced by outside influences. As for expertise, each player has a different characteristic.

Talking about the goal in the next match, Hung Dung showed his determination.''
In any match, the goal is to win. No matter how strong the opponent is, football is a competitive sport. If you enter the field without thinking about winning, you are disrespecting football.

According to the plan, the Vietnamese team will start training today (October 5) at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. On October 11, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will move to Nam Dinh to prepare for a friendly match against the Indian team at FIFA Days in October 2024./.
