Midfielder Le Dinh Long Vu and his desire to assert himself in U22 Vietnam
For the first time wearing the U22 Vietnam shirt, midfielder Le Dinh Long Vu brought with him the desire to assert himself. Before the team meeting, he shared with Nghe An Newspaper about his past journey, his goals in the youth team and his determination to overcome difficulties with Song Lam Nghe An in V.League 2024/2025.
In the list of 26 players called up to prepare for the FIFA Days in June, the Vietnam U22 team welcomes the presence of 5 faces from Song Lam Nghe An Club. Notable among them is young midfielder Le Dinh Long Vu, a talent born in 2006 who is receiving a lot of expectations.
First time wearing the national team jersey U22 Vietnam, midfielder Le Dinh Long Vu could not hide his special emotions. Sharing with Nghe An Newspaper reporter, the player of Song Lam Nghe An Club said:
“When I received the news that I was called up to the national team, I was very happy and considered this a big step forward in my career. However, I also clearly felt the responsibility, being called up to the national team is just the beginning, the important thing is to show myself, contribute to the team and try to be on the official list to participate in the SEA Games or other major tournaments.”

As one of the youngest players in this training session, Long Vu cannot avoid the pressure of having to compete with many experienced seniors, but also sees it as an opportunity to learn and affirm his abilities.
He shared that he has prepared both physically and mentally, and will continue to improve himself in a top football environment with the coaching staff and teammates at the U22 Team.

Although only 18 years old, Le Dinh Long Vu has an impressive record. He was once the main striker of Vietnam U17, shining in the 2023 U17 Asian qualifiers to help the team qualify for the final round.
At the final round in Thailand, Long Vu was the only goal scorer for U17 Vietnam, showing his ability to make a difference at the decisive moment. In particular, his impressive performance in the U17 shirt helped coach Hoang Anh Tuan trust him to call up U23 Vietnam to participate in the 2023 Southeast Asian U23 tournament - where he and his seniors will successfully defend the championship.

Not only highly appreciated domestically, Long Vu also made an international splash when he was included in the list of 60 most promising young talents in the world by the newspaper.The Guardian(England) voted in 2023 – a rare achievement for a young Southeast Asian player.
Before joining the Vietnam U22 team, Le Dinh Long Vu will join Song Lam Nghe An in the "life-or-death" match against Thep Xanh Nam Dinh on May 26 - a key match that could decide the fate of Song Lam Nghe An in V.League 2024/25.

“This is definitely an extremely important match for Song Lam Nghe An. The result of this match will greatly affect the relegation race. The whole team considers this as a final match and must prepare carefully, fighting with more than 100% of their strength,” Long Vu affirmed.
Although Song Lam Nghe An is at the bottom of the table, Long Vu believes that with solidarity and collective efforts, the team will overcome difficulties. He shared: “I will try my best to help the team achieve the best results in the remaining matches. The team needs points, and I will fight for that goal.”

To the fans, Long Vu emotionally said: “This period is very important, I hope the fans will always accompany and support the team, especially in the most difficult times. The love and encouragement of the audience is a great source of motivation for the whole team as well as myself to compete with all our might”.
From a boy passionate about football, midfielder Le Dinh Long Vu is gradually asserting himself on the map of Vietnamese and Asian youth football.
