At around 3am on April 24, people were sleeping in their house when they heard the unusual, continuous barking of dogs. They thought it was the workers on the sandbank, so they paid no attention. At 7am, they heard the crying of Mrs. Cuc's children, ran over to see and only then did they learn of the heartbreaking incident.

It is known that on the evening of April 23, Ms. Tran Minh P. (born in 1987, daughter of Ms. Cuc) went to work at the company for the night shift and left her daughter, Ngan, with her mother to look after. That same morning, Ms. P. went to the house to pick up her child and found the door locked from the outside. When she knocked on the door, no one answered. Feeling that something was wrong, Ms. P. ran to ask the neighbors to break the back door to get into the house. At that time, everyone discovered Ms. Cuc, Ngan and Nhi (P.'s younger sister) dead in a pool of blood.
At the scene, Ngan was found lying face down in the middle of the house downstairs, Cuc was lying in the hallway between the house upstairs and downstairs, and Nhi was found dead in her room.
According to the locals, Mrs. Cuc has three daughters. The two eldest daughters are married and have moved out. Mrs. Cuc and her youngest daughter live together in the house where the murder took place. Mrs. Cuc has lived here for a long time. Every day, Mrs. Cuc sells water at home and lives in harmony with her neighbors and the people around her.
