(Baonghean.vn) - On August 8, the 4th Defense Economic Group, the Provincial Military Command held a conference to summarize the 4th phase of the "Project to strengthen young intellectual volunteers working in the Ky Son Economic - Defense Zone 4, phase 2016 - 2018, and to receive young intellectual volunteers of the 5th phase of project 174, phase 2018 - 2020.

Attending were Major General Ha Tan Tien - Deputy Commander of Military Region 4, Head of Project Management Board 174 of Military Region 4, representatives of local authorities.
In the 4th phase, 2016-2018, the National Defense Economic Group 4 received 28 young intellectual volunteers to reinforce the border communes of the two districts of Ky Son and Que Phong. During the implementation of the Project, the young intellectual volunteer team actively coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to transform the structure of crops and livestock, and apply scientific and technical advances to production and livestock breeding.

In 2 years, many economic development models have been built with high efficiency, creating income for ethnic minorities in border communes, such as turmeric, passion fruit, Shan Tuyet tea, medicinal plant growing, wet rice growing, etc.; successfully built 21 small livestock farm models; Organized free medical examination and medicine distribution for 1,267 people; mobilized people to implement population policy - family planning, prevent social evils; Built cultural life in residential areas; In particular, 3 literacy classes were opened, with 111 people participating in the study.
Recognizing the achievements of young intellectuals in the past 2 years, Major General Ha Tan Tien pinned badges and awarded certificates to 28 young intellectual volunteers of the 4th batch, 2016-2018 period. And awarded the decision to accept 24 young intellectual volunteers of the 5th batch, 2018-2020 period.
