German intelligence: IS planning terrorist attacks during Euro 2016
IS militants have identified the Euro 2016 football tournament in France as their target for a terrorist attack.

That was the statement of the head of the German intelligence agency Hans-Georg Maassen in an interview with the German newspaper Rheinischen Post.
According to him, there is currently no specific information about the terrorists' plans, however the special task force is confident that IS "is targeting Euro 2016".
Mr Maassen also noted that the militants had called on Muslims living in Europe to carry out attacks.
It should be noted that previously, French intelligence also discovered an attack plot by IS fighters.
The 2016 European Football Championship will start on June 10 and last for a month with 51 football matches in 10 stadiums across France. An estimated 2.5 million viewers are expected.
