Nghe An province meets with typical businesses and entrepreneurs

BUSINESS COMMUNITY MAKES IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROVINCE

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that due to the Covid-19 epidemic, this year the province could not organize a meeting with businesses on a large scale like previous years. At the same time, he sent the best wishes to businesses and entrepreneurs, wishing them to always be steadfast, overcome all difficulties and challenges and succeed in production and business activities.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that over the past year, especially since the beginning of 2021, the Covid-19 epidemic has had a profound impact on all aspects of socio-economic life. Up to this point, Vietnam has had more than 838,000 people infected with Covid-19, more than 20,000 deaths. Nghe An alone, despite efforts to control the situation, has had more than 1,900 people infected with Covid-19, 19 deaths.

Although the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic is enormous, with the participation of the entire political system, with the spirit of effort, determination, timeliness, synchronization, and support from the people and businesses, in the past time, the province has basically controlled the Covid-19 epidemic. Although in recent days there have been some positive cases, they are citizens who have just returned from the southern provinces and cities and have been quarantined.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that despite difficulties, the province's socio-economic situation in the first 9 months still achieved positive results. The province's growth rate in the first 9 months was 5.9% (the whole country was 1.42%); in the third quarter alone, it grew by 2.9% (the whole country was -6.17%). Budget revenue by September 30, 2021 reached VND 13,219 billion, equal to 94.2% of the estimate, up 13.2% over the same period.

Investment attraction has had positive changes with 77 new investment projects, 102 projects adjusted in scale, with a total capital of both newly registered and adjusted capital of nearly 22,000 billion VND. The number of projects increased by 30.5%, but especially the total investment of each project increased nearly 5 times. The province also had 1,321 newly established enterprises with a registered capital of 13,500 billion VND, 597 enterprises returned to operation.

“The business community plays an extremely important and decisive role in contributing to the above results, especially in the difficult conditions of both epidemic prevention and control and socio-economic development. The business community has also actively contributed and shared in social security work, helping those in difficult circumstances,” said the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, adding that over the past year, the province has mobilized 232 billion VND for the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic. Enterprises in the province alone contributed 123 billion VND. In addition, businesses also participate in many programs such as "Tet for the poor", "Warm Tet on the border", building "Great Unity" houses, etc.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung acknowledged, highly appreciated and warmly commended the contributions of the business community and entrepreneurs of the province to economic development and ensuring social security in the province in recent times.

FOCUS ON REMOVING DIFFICULTIES AND PROBLEMS FOR BUSINESSES IN THE NEW SITUATION

Reviewing the business situation of the province, the head of the provincial People's Committee said that the business force in the province has increased in both quantity and quality over the past year. Currently, the province has about 24,000 registered businesses, of which 13,800 are operating. Businesses in the province are contributing about 60-62% of the total budget revenue, creating jobs for 221,000 workers. Thien Minh Duc Group of businesswoman Chu Thi Thanh alone is contributing about 10% to the provincial budget.

However, the scale of enterprises in the province is mainly small and micro, accounting for 97-98%; capacity in terms of capital, technology, market, etc. is still limited. Therefore, in the coming time, the province recommends that the business community, entrepreneurs, associations, and business associations focus on the issues.

First of all, according to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the province's enterprises must uphold the spirit of self-reliance, self-strengthening, overcoming immediate and long-term difficulties, to achieve the highest results in production and business activities in the new context, new situation, production must be safe, safe for production, ensure safety in epidemic prevention and control, and develop a production and business recovery plan suitable for the new situation. Because the common view of the whole country is that there cannot be "zero Covid", it is necessary to adapt safely, flexibly, and effectively control the Covid-19 epidemic.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also suggested that in such changing conditions, businesses also need to change by increasing the application of technology in production and business activities, and implementing digital transformation.

Considering that the issue of caring for workers' lives is partly the responsibility of the authorities at all levels, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also hopes that businesses need to care about and share support policies for workers. Because in the difficult context, many businesses have to stop and delay operations, causing great difficulties for workers. The province is assigning all levels and sectors to review and classify workers by field to connect labor supply and demand to help businesses in need of additional labor. Therefore, businesses also need to grasp to turn difficulties into advantages.

Enterprises, Associations, Business Associations are interested in innovating the activities of Associations and Associations in the new situation. Affirming their position as a bridge between enterprises and the government, between enterprises and enterprises, between enterprises and consumers.

The head of the provincial People's Committee affirmed that the authorities at all levels are committed to working with the business community and entrepreneurs; creating the most favorable conditions for businesses and entrepreneurs to develop. The province is currently developing a business development project for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030, with many contents. In particular, the province will focus on improving the investment and business environment in the most favorable direction for businesses; removing barriers that cause difficulties for businesses.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested that entrepreneurs and enterprises boldly and frankly point out barriers, problems that cause difficulties, officials and civil servants who have harassed, caused trouble, and hindered business operations so that the province can take strict measures. Because hindering business operations is also hindering the socio-economic development of the province.

The province has also established a working group headed by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to remove difficulties and obstacles for enterprises.
