On the afternoon of January 4, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a press conference on socio-economic, national defense and security in 2023. Comrades: Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Ba Hung - Director of the Department of Information and Communications chaired the conference. Top 8 localities attracting the largest FDI investment in the country

At the conference, representatives of the Department of Planning and Investment informed the results of the province's socio-economic development in 2023. Accordingly, the growth rate of the province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2023 is estimated at 7.14%. State budget revenue in 2023 as of January 3, 2024 is VND 21,232 billion, reaching 133.9% of the estimate and equal to 94.4% compared to the implementation in 2022 (of which, domestic revenue is VND 19,938 billion, revenue from import and export activities is VND 1,277 billion).

Investment attraction results have been very positive: As of December 31, 2023, the province has granted new licenses to 120 projects and adjusted 190 projects, with a total newly granted and adjusted capital of VND 58,123 billion, 1.7 times higher than the set target (VND 30,000-35,000 billion). Notably, in 2023, Nghe An will be in the top 8 localities attracting the largest FDI in the country with a total newly granted and adjusted capital of USD 1,605.5 million as of December 31, 2023.

The province has also focused on implementing and basically completing important political tasks, such as: Completing the work of summarizing 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW and the Politburo issued Resolution No. 39-NQ/TW dated July 18, 2023 on building and developing Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045; submitting to the Prime Minister for approval the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050,...

At the press conference, representatives of press agencies raised questions; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors answered opinions surrounding the fact that the domestic waste treatment area in Quy Hop district cannot be used yet; problems, viewpoints and solutions for the Vinh Hang Park project when the progress is too slow. In the coming time, Nghe An province hopes that the press agencies will continue to accompany and spend more time to continue to propagate the results of implementing the Directives and Resolutions of the Party and the Government. In particular, focusing on propagating the results of implementing Resolution 39 of the Politburo, the provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050, the project to rearrange administrative units at district and commune levels and a number of areas related to the implementation of State laws in the province.

At the same time, focus on promoting the province's socio-economic development, especially the results of investment attraction, efforts in administrative reform, and the results of implementing national target programs in the province. At the same time, press agencies need to update information on weather conditions for people to grasp, respond promptly, and proactively develop production plans.
