Overview of areas in Nghe An where the North-South high-speed railway is expected to pass through

The North-South high-speed railway has been approved by the National Assembly for investment since the end of 2024. The section passing through Nghe An is expected to be 85.5 km long. The following are images recorded by reporters of Nghe An Newspaper, Radio and Television in the areas where the high-speed railway is expected to pass through.

The area passing through Nghe An was studied and determined in 2 main sections. Section 1 after passing Truong Lam mountain will avoid the Hoang Mai Cement Factory area, in Hoang Mai ward, heading west, located between the current North-South railway corridor and the expressway. When passing through Hung Chau commune (an area belonging to Dien Truong commune, old Dien Chau district), the high-speed railway basically runs parallel to the current railway and is 100m - 400m to the West. The proposed area for Vinh station is in Hung Nguyen commune (formerly Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district). This is the area between the expressway and the Vinh bypass. Vinh station plays a role in connecting the western part of the inner city with the city center. This is a station with 4 lines, serving all trains stopping here. Photo: Tien Dong
