The crime of the husband who murdered his wife and put her in a water tank

After many hours of denying his crime, suspect Nghia finally confessed to killing his wife and cried, asking to return to his hometown to bury the victim.

On July 4, Nha Be District Police said they were completing the file to transfer Suspect Nguyen Van Nghia (42 years old, from Tien Giang) to Ho Chi Minh City Police to investigate and clarify the murder.

It is known that Nghia and his wife Nguyen Thi Thanh Giang (42 years old, from the same hometown) moved to Ho Chi Minh City to work as pig butchers, residing in Phuoc Kien commune (Nha Be district, Ho Chi Minh City).

According to the investigation agency, on the evening of June 30, Nghia went out drinking and fell asleep. At around 1am, his wife grabbed two Thai knives and woke him up to go butcher a pig for hire.

Nghia kept calling but he refused to wake up, leading to an argument. Suddenly, Mrs. Giang was slashed multiple times on the wrist by her husband with a knife, causing her to lose blood. Panicked, the victim crawled into the bathroom. A few minutes later, Nghia saw his wife faint from blood loss, so he grabbed her and threw her into a 1.2 meter high water tank, causing the victim to die from drowning.

Nghia cleaned up the blood stains at the scene before running to work as usual. The next morning, the victim's son discovered his mother dead and immediately shouted for his father to come home immediately.

Arriving home, Nghia cried and comforted his son, then hired a car to take his wife's body back to his hometown for the funeral.

The suspect went to the People's Committee of Tan Phuoc Commune (Go Cong Dong District, Tien Giang Province) to request a death certificate for his wife. However, when the family discovered many injuries caused by sharp objects on the victim's body, they reported it to the authorities for investigation. The Go Cong Dong District Police informed and coordinated with the Nha Be District Police, Ho Chi Minh City to investigate.

At the place where Mr. Nghia and his wife rented a room on Dao Su Tich Street, Phuoc Kien Commune, Nha Be District, Nha Be District Police and Ho Chi Minh City's professional units discovered many blood stains on the ground along with a bloody knife and many related evidences.

Through an autopsy, authorities determined that the victim had many deep cuts on both wrists and severed tendons.

From the above information, the authorities determined that this was a murder case with a fake crime scene. After checking the suspects, the police suspected Nghia as the perpetrator.

Through the struggle and the evidence presented, Nghia admitted all his crimes.

Nghia confessed that due to financial difficulties, he and his wife often argued. In a fit of anger at his wife's nagging, he murdered her. Nghia expressed remorse and asked the police to let him go home to take care of his wife's funeral.
