General Secretary and President: "Political recession is more dangerous than economic recession"
Speaking to voters, General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized: "Political degradation is more dangerous than economic degradation."
On the morning of November 24, at the meeting with voters after the 6th session of the 14th National Assembly, held by General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong and delegates of constituency No. 1 (Ba Dinh and Tay Ho districts, Hanoi), some voters raised the issue of "self-evolution, self-transformation" among cadres and party members.
Responding to this content, the General Secretary and President affirmed that this is an extremely important issue because political stability is needed for the country to develop. "Why does the Central Committee talk about fighting against self-evolution and self-transformation from within? I would like to take this opportunity to report to voters why Mr. Chu Hao was disciplined?", he raised the issue.

According to Party and State leaders, self-evolution and self-transformation occur in each person and can "turn us into someone else without us knowing, making our path extremely complicated."
He said that cadres and party members in general are basically very good, but there are people who "rely on their own merits to become arrogant, say whatever they want, say things against the Charter, say things against the Platform. So are those people still party members?"
The General Secretary and President said that recently, the competent authority has also expelled several other cases from the Party; "anyone who has degraded must be educated and corrected, but a few people must also be disciplined to save thousands of people, so that others do not commit the same mistake again."
"If we rely on ourselves to be this and that, to be a meritorious person, and then criticize and expose everything, what will happen to this regime? Political decline is more dangerous than economic decline," General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized.
Previously, the 31st session of the Central Inspection Committee (from November 12 to 14) decided to expel Mr. Chu Hao (Director - Editor-in-Chief of Tri Thuc Publishing House, former member of the Party Executive Committee, former Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, former member of the Central Council of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations) from the Party.
The Central Inspection Committee concluded that Mr. Chu Hao had seriously violated the principles of Party organization and activities, violated the qualifications and standards of Party members, and regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do. Mr. Hao wrote and made statements that were contrary to the Political Platform, Party Statutes, resolutions, directives, and regulations of the Party and the State, clearly showing the degradation of political ideology, "self-evolution", and "self-transformation".
"Since the violation was discovered, Party organizations have reminded and reviewed him, but he did not correct it, but continued to commit new violations. During the review and disciplinary process, Mr. Hao did not comply with Party regulations, did not comply with the review, and had defiant and defiant behavior," the Committee's announcement stated.
Mr. Chu Hao's violations are considered "very serious", "occurring over a long period of time, affecting the reputation of the Party organization, and negatively impacting social ideology".
At the 30th session (from October 17 to 19), the Central Inspection Committee concluded that, in his position as Director and Editor-in-Chief of Tri Thuc Publishing House, Mr. Chu Hao was primarily responsible for the publication of a number of books with content contrary to the views, policies and guidelines of the Party and State, violating the Publishing Law, which were handled, recalled and destroyed by the authorities.
