Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz sincerely thanked the General Secretary for the solemn welcome and warm sentiments of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the leaders and people of Vietnam; and expressed his special joy to be in Vietnam for the first time, which is also the first visit outside of Latin America as Prime Minister.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong warmly welcomed and highly appreciated the significance of Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz's visit to Vietnam, expressing his belief that the visit will contribute to further deepening the special traditional friendship and enhancing cooperation between the two parties and countries of Vietnam and Cuba, which have been cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh and President Fidel Castro and generations of leaders of the two parties and countries.

The General Secretary affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always respect and are grateful for the support and assistance of the Party, State and people of Cuba for Vietnam's cause of national liberation and nation building, recalling President Fidel Castro's saying, "For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to sacrifice its blood."

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong also congratulated Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz on being awarded the noble Ho Chi Minh Medal by the Party, State and people of Vietnam during his visit to Vietnam.

The General Secretary also recalled his impressions and profound memories of the beautiful country of Cuba, the close and warm comradely affection that General Raul Castro, Comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel, the leaders and people of Cuba always had for Vietnam during their visits to Cuba; he believed that under the leadership of the glorious Communist Party of Cuba, the Cuban people will successfully carry out the process of updating the socialist socio-economic model and the goal of building a sovereign, independent, socialist, democratic, prosperous and sustainable nation.

Impressed and admiring the great and historic achievements that Vietnam has achieved after more than 35 years of renovation, especially the successful control of the Covid-19 pandemic, effective implementation of key socio-economic development programs and focuses, enhancing international position and prestige, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz informed about the situation in Cuba, efforts to overcome difficulties and develop, thanked Vietnam for its cooperation and assistance; expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people will continue to gain many new and greater achievements, successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
