State Auditor General: Proposal to recover 92 trillion VND after audit

Necessary investment in rural power grid infrastructure
Expressing his thoughts and aspirations to the National Assembly delegate, voter Phan Van Chuong of Xuan Tuong commune (Thanh Chuong) reflected on the state of power lines in some places that have degraded.
Sharing the same opinion, voter Nguyen Trong Hoanh cited that hamlet 7, Xuan Tuong commune is a cultural hamlet, however, in the hamlet there are still households using bare wires and unsafe electric poles, making people quite worried, especially when the rainy and stormy season comes.
"Along with the unsafe power grid system, people are upset when electricity prices suddenly increase" - Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoanh worried.

Clarifying the content of voters' concerns, a representative of Thanh Chuong Electricity said that, implementing the State's policy of handing over the rural power grid to the Electricity sector for management, in the past, the Electricity sector has invested in upgrading the power grid system. However, because the power grid system when the Electricity received it was old and dilapidated, while the capital source was limited, it could not meet the people's expectations.
Thanh Chuong Electricity representative also added that the biggest difficulty now is that in Thanh Chuong district, there are up to 60 households in Team 2 of the Youth Volunteer Corps 5 that do not have electricity.
Thanh Chuong Electricity affirms that the unit is trying to mobilize all investment resources to meet people's electricity needs.
The State Auditor General said that regarding voters' opinions on the sudden increase in electricity prices, the provincial National Assembly Delegation will send a document to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance. At the same time, this content will be discussed by provincial National Assembly deputies before the National Assembly forum.
The head of the State Audit affirmed that the provincial National Assembly Delegation will send a document to the Electricity Group to plan to provide capital for Nghe An Electricity Company and Thanh Chuong Electricity Company to invest in the power line system that needs to be repaired and upgraded to ensure safety for the people.
Anti-corruption is getting hotter
Reflecting their opinions to the National Assembly Deputies, voters of Thanh Chuong district expressed their excitement and confidence in the results of the country's fight against corruption in recent times. Voters welcomed the fight against corruption (PCTN) which has been focused on by the Party and the State and has achieved many remarkable results.
"The National Assembly is requested to supervise the implementation of projects and direct all levels and sectors to detect and prevent corruption," said Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh, Chairman of the Veterans Association of Xuan Tuong Commune.

Regarding this content, State Auditor General Ho Duc Phoc affirmed that the Party and State's anti-corruption work is taking place resolutely, strongly, and effectively with the viewpoint that anti-corruption work has no "forbidden zones", and anyone who violates will be punished.
“Along with the anti-corruption work is the completion of policy mechanisms, especially recently, the situation of “hot above, cold below” is no longer there, the lower levels of the Central Government have gradually become “hotter”, through the discovery and handling of many anti-corruption cases by many provinces. The Central Anti-Corruption Committee has issued a policy to fight petty corruption” - said the head of the State Audit.
In 2018, the State Audit conducted nearly 300 audits. As a result, the State Audit recommended the recovery of VND 92 trillion, increased state budget revenue by VND 46 trillion, recommended ministries and branches to amend and cancel nearly 160 documents, recommended handling of hundreds of officials, and transferred 5 cases to the investigation agency. In the coming time, the State Audit will focus on auditing projects nationwide, especially investment projects in the form of BOT, BT, etc.
