CNN quoted the above source as saying that European diplomats are seeing "optimistic signs" that Washington will expel "a significant number" of Russian diplomatic staff.
According to sources, the US is waiting to see what measures the European Council (EC) member countries will take in the context that on March 23, 10 European countries announced that they would support the UK in its decision to expel Russian diplomats.
A senior diplomatic source said Germany, France, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Ireland and several other countries will "possibly" expel Russian diplomats to Moscow on March 26./.
