Russian President signs law on blocking defamatory online information
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law allowing blocking of information on the Internet that defames the honor and dignity of citizens or legal entities, and relevant documents are published on the official website of legal information.

The changes in the current law refer to some special points in implementing the document's requirements on deleting information disseminated on the Internet that harms the honor, dignity of an individual or the legal entity's business reputation.
In particular, when the person disseminating false information is asked to delete this information from the network but refuses to do so, when the deadline comes, the enforcement board can make a decision to restrict network access for the person who intentionally spreads information that tarnishes the reputation of others.
