Russian President Putin predicts the collapse of the American superpower
Russian President Putin’s speech in Munich about global security 10 years ago has stood the test of time. Over the past 10 years, many of the issues in that speech have become increasingly tangible. A journalist from the Western-based Strategic Culture Foundation made this observation.

Speaking to senior officials at the annual Munich Security Conference on February 10, 2007, the Russian leader opened his speech by announcing that he would talk about international relations frankly, not in “empty diplomatic jargon.”
Next, President Putin did not disappoint his audience. With frankness and sharpness, he completely leveled the arrogance of unilateral American power.
He called “the drive for world domination” a threat to global security. “We are seeing more and more disregard for the basic principles of international law,” adding: “One country, of course the United States first and foremost, is trying to go beyond its national borders.”
In addition, President Putin also predicted that America's arrogance about unilateral domination will eventually lead to America's destruction.
Ten years after this speech, few would have guessed that America's global position is actually declining miserably – just as Mr. Putin warned in 2007.
The author believes that recent initiatives of the US leadership, such as withdrawing from the climate agreement, the failure in the Middle East, the conflict with North Korea – all these issues are seen as abuses of power that will ultimately destroy the US as a world hegemon.
At that time, President Putin said: “I believe that the unipolar world model is not only unacceptable, but also impossible in the modern world.” And this has become a reality in the modern world. The unipolar position of the United States inevitably leads to a world of lawlessness, chaos, distrust, fear and violence, the author ofStrategic Culture Foundationwrite.
Diplomacy, international law, dialogue and consensus are completely excluded. Look at how the US and its NATO allies destroyed Libya in 2011 and how they have secretly pillaged Syria through a dirty war that has lasted for the past 7 years, a war that only Russia has managed to stop, along with Iran’s military intervention in late 2015. Look at how the US and its NATO allies destabilized Ukraine, but blamed Russia.
NATO's provocative expansion across Europe with military weapons reaching Russia's borders, which President Putin warned in 2007 would lead to insecurity and tension in Europe, has actually happened.
President Putin was right to tell the truth in his 2007 speech without using “diplomatic empty words.” Because of that speech, Russia has made Washington hate it and pursue hostile policies toward Russia.
