Russian President Orders Gas Sales to Unfriendly Countries for Rubles Only
Russia will no longer accept payments for natural gas sales in foreign currencies, including dollars and euros, but will switch to rubles.
In the shortest possible time, Russia will switch to paying for gas sales to Europe in rubles.
This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday during a meeting with the government.
"I decided to take a series of measures to transfer payments - let's start with this - for natural gas that we supply to so-called unfriendly countries, into Russian rubles as soon as possible," Putin said.

President Putin explained that Russia plans to abandon all currencies vulnerable to such payments.
The Russian Federation will maintain the price specified in the contract.
Russia will continue to supply gas to other countries in accordance with volumes and prices stipulated in previously signed contracts, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Wednesday during a meeting with the government.
"I would like to stress that Russia will continue to supply natural gas in volumes and at prices in accordance with the pricing principles set in the previously signed contracts," Putin said.
Illegal decisions to freeze assets of the Russian Federation
"Over the past few weeks, as you know, a number of Western countries have made illegal decisions on the so-called freezing of Russian assets. Western countries have actually drawn the line at the reliability of their currencies. Thus, in principle, both the United States of America and the European Union have declared a real default on their obligations to Russia. And now everyone in the world knows, before it was skeptical, and now everyone knows that debts in dollars and euros may not be met," Putin said./.
