President Putin signs order on government resignation
Russian President Putin has signed an order on the resignation of Dmitry Medvedev's government and asked the Chairman of the Russian Federal Tax Service Mikhail Misustin to take over as Prime Minister.
Earlier, Dmitry Medvedev, after the President's message to the Federal Assembly, said that the entire government would resign.

President Vladimir Putin thanked members of the government for their joint work, "although not everything went well."
Proposal of the President of the Russian Federation to amend the Constitution
Earlier, Vladimir Putin, speaking in a message to the Federal Assembly, proposed a number of amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation and put them to a referendum.
In general, the Constitution needs to strengthen the principles of a unified public power system, building effective interaction between state and local structures, the president noted, because there is a gap between them and "confusion between powers" that negatively affects all citizens.
In addition, Mr. Putin proposed the right of the State Duma to approve the post of head of government, and then, on the proposal of the prime minister, to appoint all deputy prime ministers and federal ministers.

President Vladimir Putin has also nominated the head of the Russian Federal Tax Service, Mikhail Mishustin, for the post of Prime Minister, which will be considered by the State Duma after the meeting, the Kremlin press service reported.
"President Vladimir Putin had a working meeting with Mikhail Mishustin and invited him to take up the post of prime minister. With his consent, he submitted Mishustin's candidacy for the post of prime minister to the State Duma for consideration," the press service said.
