President Putin: Russia will pursue a policy that meets national interests
(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of National Flag Day held on August 22 in Russia, President Vladimir Putin declared that, as a powerful and independent power, Russia will only pursue a policy that meets the fundamental interests of the nation.
President Putin affirmed: "Russia is an independent and powerful power in the world. In the international arena, we resolutely pursue only policies that meet the core interests of the motherland."

Mr. Putin noted that the Russian flag, which was raised more than three centuries ago on Russia's first battleship, remained the symbol of the country during difficult historical periods - under Peter the Great during the formation of the Russian Empire, on the battlefields of World War I and in the conflict-filled, difficult times when fundamental changes took place since the 1990s.
President Putin expressed his belief that the Russian flag will forever be a sacred symbol for all generations of citizens of the country, "encouraging them to achieve glorious feats and achievements, conquering new heights in science, culture and sports, and arousing pride in the fatherland."
