President Putin: Russia has the best fighter jets in the world

During a meeting with the winners of the Russian Leaders competition on March 19, President Putin said he considered the Su-57 5th generation fighter to be the best military aircraft in the world today.

“The Su-57 is the best aircraft today, the best aircraft in the world. It is the best aircraft in the world for all its operational characteristics and weapons,” President Putin said.

The Russian leader also stressed: “No aircraft can perform as well as ours.”

The Su-57 is a 5th generation multirole fighter designed to destroy all types of air targets at both short and long ranges. In addition, the Su-57 is also capable of attacking ground and sea targets and overcoming air defense systems.

The Su-57 first took to the air on January 29, 2010. Compared to previous generations of aircraft, the Su-57 combines the functions of an attack aircraft and a fighter. In addition, the use of composite materials, advanced technologies and a new aerodynamic configuration ensure that the Su-57 has a low infrared emission level.

The Su-57 is considered a rival to the US F-22 and F-35. Russian media praises the Su-57 as the “sky ghost” because of its superior stealth capabilities.

The Su-57 will be equipped with hypersonic missiles. Russia's 5th generation fighter jet has been successfully tested in real combat conditions in Syria.
