President Putin ready to negotiate to resolve Ukraine conflict
(Baonghean.vn) - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is still ready to participate in negotiations to achieve the goals of the special military campaign through peaceful means, but the West does not create conditions.
In an interview with Rossiya-1 TV channel, Mr. Peskov said: "President Putin was, is and will be ready to leave open the possibility of contact to achieve Russia's goals by means other than special military operations. If possible, that would be better... However, Western countries do not give us other options at the moment."
Meanwhile, the Russian Security Council said that the country considers strengthening economic sovereignty a top priority and is looking for ways to counter Western pressure aimed at causing a financial crisis in Russia.
The Security Council of the Russian Federation is currently working to “improve the quality of life of the population, ensure macroeconomic stability and balanced territorial development of the country.”

“Developing measures to counter Western attempts to provoke an economic crisis in Russia, which poses a threat of social unrest in the country, also serves as a key focus,” the Security Council said in a statement obtained by Interfax news agency.
The United States, the European Union and their allies have imposed unprecedented sanctions on Russia since Moscow launched its military campaign in Ukraine. The sanctions have affected entire sectors of the Russian economy, as well as businesses and individuals, including President Vladimir Putin. About $300 billion of Russia's foreign currency reserves have been frozen, while imports and exports of a range of products have been restricted. On Friday, President Putin warned that some "bad actors" were stepping up their efforts to destabilize Russia and called on cabinet members not to allow this to happen "under any circumstances."
