On June 22, Russia's TASS news agency reported that at a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council, Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed out that the West could provide more military equipment to Ukraine, but the country does not have an endless amount of manpower at its disposal.

Commenting on the figures provided by Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu and Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev on Ukraine’s losses in personnel and equipment, the leader in Moscow said: “I realize that this is preliminary information, because it is impossible to get a full picture of the battlefield, but the overall picture is clear. Of course, one can conclude that additional supplies of equipment are possible, but the mobilization reserve is not endless.”

“It seems that Ukraine's Western allies have really decided to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian,” the Russian President stressed.

During the meeting, Mr. Putin heard Mr. Shoigu report on Ukraine's losses and then compared this information with figures obtained by Mr. Patrushev through other channels.

“Nikolay Platonovich, I suggest you maintain interaction with colleagues from various agencies so that we have an objective picture of what is going on,” he explained, asking to clarify “what the situation is from the perspective of various agencies participating in the special military operation.”

“Obviously, the main responsibility lies with the Defense Ministry, but other agencies also collect information,” the Russian president added.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry and Security Council, Ukraine's human losses have exceeded 13 thousand people. Putin is also interested in how the Russian Defense Ministry assesses the possibilities of new supplies of Western military hardware.

After listening to the reports, Russian President Putin stressed that the Ukrainian army's reserves are not yet exhausted and Russian commanders need to be realistic when planning combat operations.

"We must proceed from the premise that the enemy's offensive potential has not yet been exhausted; some strategic reserves have not yet been used, and I ask that this be kept in mind when planning operations. We must proceed from the real situation," Putin concluded.
