President Putin awards Friendship Medal to 5 Vietnamese officials
Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the Friendship Medal to representatives of the Ministry of National Defense of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

5 Vietnamese citizens were awarded noble prizes including:
* Mr. Ngo Xuan Lich - Minister of National Defense
* Mr. Be Xuan Truong - Deputy Minister of National Defense.
* Mr. Phan Van Giang - Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense.
* Mr. Luong Cuong - Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.
* Mr. Ngo Duc Manh - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Russian Federation.
The information was published on March 29 on Russia's official legal information portal. According to the document, the individuals were awarded the Friendship Medal "for their great contributions to the cause of strengthening the comprehensive partnership between the Russian Federation and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam."
The Order of Friendship is an award given to citizens of Russia and foreign countries for exceptional merit in strengthening peace, friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between peoples, for effective activities aimed at bringing together and enriching the cultures of countries and peoples.
