5 Vietnamese citizens were awarded noble prizes including:
* Mr. Ngo Xuan Lich - Minister of National Defense
* Mr. Be Xuan Truong - Deputy Minister of National Defense.
* Mr. Phan Van Giang - Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense.
* Mr. Luong Cuong - Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.
* Mr. Ngo Duc Manh - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Russian Federation.

According to the document, the individuals were awarded the Friendship Medal "for their great contributions to the cause of strengthening the comprehensive partnership between the Russian Federation and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam."
