“The Trump Economy is setting records and has a long way to go. However, if someone other than me is in charge of the United States in 2020, the market will collapse like never before. Keep America Great,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
Mr. Trump officially launched his 2020 campaign on June 11 in Orlando, Florida.
This is not the first time Mr Trump has warned of a stock market crash if he is not in power. In January, he tweeted: “If you want a market crash, impeach Trump.”
In February, Mr. Trump tweeted that if the “opposition party” had won in 2016, “the U.S. stock market would be down at least 10,000 points right now,” an unverified claim, according toAP.
“If I get impeached, I think the market will crash, I think everybody will be very poor,” Trump said last August. “If you take that out of your head, you’re going to see numbers that nobody will believe.”
According to experts, the US stock market has increased by about 27% since Mr. Trump took office as President in January 2017. However, during that time, the US market witnessed a series of large sell-offs from investors due to fears of a trade war between Washington and China, Mexico and several other countries./.
