Ukrainian President Suspectes Russia Has Spies in High-Level Positions
(Baonghean.vn) - The Ukrainian President is concerned about the possibility of information leaks among his closest military aides as well as international partners.

President Vladimir Zelensky said on Ukrainian television on February 25 that he suspected members of his high command and international partners may be leaking information to Russia. The information came amid a worsening war situation for Kiev and a shortage of ammunition due to a decrease in military aid from international donors to the country.
After the Ukrainian counteroffensive in 2023 failed, Russian forces have begun to make progress, according to RT. Last week, Russia captured the town of Avdeevka, which had been heavily fortified by Kiev over the past few years. The city was often used by the Ukrainian army to launch shelling of nearby Donetsk.
Also on February 25, Mr. Zelensky told reporters that there would be another counterattack. “We have a plan, a clear plan. Some plans will be prepared because of leaks,” he said. The Ukrainian leader said that the less people know about the plan, the better, adding: “The plans for our counterattacks last fall were on the table in the Kremlin, even before the counterattacks began.”
He explained that with the number of tasks his high command faced, requiring the participation of many people, increased the risk of information leakage.
“In addition, there are some of our partners who, in order to supply us with weapons, know some of our actions on the battlefield. They need to know, otherwise they will not allocate the appropriate package. And when there are many of them, the enemy will have more detailed information,” Zelensky said, without specifying who he suspected of leaking the information.
The decline in military aid from the United States, Kiev’s biggest wartime donor, has been blamed by Ukrainian officials for the country’s recent losses on the battlefield. US President Joe Biden has renewed his call for Congress to pass a supplemental budget request – including $60 billion for Kiev – saying he does not believe Ukraine can hold other frontline cities without US weapons and ammunition.
Moscow has condemned Western arms shipments to Ukraine, saying they will only prolong the conflict.
