President Zelensky appoints new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed General Oleksandr Syrskyi as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, replacing General Valerii Zaluzhnyi.

Earlier, according to Unkrinform news agency, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, and thanked him for two years of defending the country.
According to Ukrainian law, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces is the head of the armed forces, overseeing the situation of the army and its equipment, weapons and related resources.
The Commander-in-Chief reports to the President and the Secretary of Defense on the results of implementing the country's strategic military goals.
