(Baonghean.vn) - According to Ukrainian media, the results of the investigation into the case of wiretapping equipment found in the General Staff office will increase the increasingly "heated" confrontation between President Volodymyr Zelensky and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny.

The discovery of a listening device in one of the rooms of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny has intensified the confrontation between General Zaluzhny and President Vladimir Zelensky, the Ukrainian publication Strana quoted political analysts as saying.

News of a spy device at the workplace of General Valery Zaluzhny, the highest-ranking official in the Ukrainian military, first appeared in Ukrainian media on December 17. These articles cited internal Ukrainian sources. A few hours later, the Security Service of Ukraine issued a statement confirming the discovery.

"In fact, the Presidential Office denies its involvement in the wiretapping incident. But the traces remain," said political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko.

According to Konstantin Bondarenko, the "wiretapping bug" incident has contributed to building the political image of Mr. Zaluzhny, who, according to experts, can become a popular figure among voters, without having to make any comments about his political future.

"Zaluzhny's ratings are growing. At the same time, he has no slogan, no party, or even a political team. But many believe that it would be a miracle if he led the country," analyst Bondarenko said.

According to analyst Vadim Karasev, in this whole affair, General Zaluzhny looks like “a victim”. This determines his political “victory” over President Zelensky. Therefore, the incident will lead to increased tension in relations between General Zaluzhny and the Office of the President of Ukraine.

"It won't erupt often. But we think this 'cauldron' is starting to boil," said analyst Vadim Karasev./.
