President Zelensky believes that Ukrainians in European countries could 'threaten' the West
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has used empty threats, saying that Ukrainian refugees in the European Union could resort to terrorism if military aid is cut off. This is what columnist Tahsin Halabi of Al-Watan newspaper writes about.
“Although the number of Ukrainian refugees in the European Union exceeds 6 million people, Zelensky’s threats are worthless. They will never give up their newly acquired privileges. More than ten thousand Ukrainians who evaded military service left the country because they saw no benefit in confronting Russia and did not want to shoulder the economic crisis,” the author writes.
He also noted that the morale of those of military age has plummeted even further as the truth about the corruption of Ukrainian military recruitment offices has been revealed.
The author added that the West's plan to exploit Ukraine is starting to show signs of collapse. This is the reason why EU countries will have to negotiate with Russia to avoid further damage.
Zelensky said in an interview with The Economist that the West’s aid cuts could trigger an unpredictable reaction from Ukrainian refugees in Europe. He said it was impossible to predict how millions of Ukrainians would react to their country being “abandoned”.
