President Zelensky says Ukrainians in European countries could 'threaten' the West

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has used empty threats, saying that Ukrainian refugees in the European Union could resort to terrorism if military aid is cut off. This is what Al-Watan columnist Tahsin Halabi wrote about.

“Although the number of Ukrainian refugees in the European Union exceeds 6 million people, Zelensky’s threats are worthless. They will never give up their newly won privileges. More than ten thousand Ukrainians who evaded military service left the country because they did not see any benefit in confronting Russia and did not want to carry the burden of the economic crisis on their shoulders,” the author writes.

He also noted that the morale of those of military age has plummeted even further as the truth about the corruption of Ukrainian military recruitment offices has been revealed.

The author added that the West's plan to exploit Ukraine is starting to show signs of collapse. This is why EU countries will have to negotiate with Russia to avoid further damage.

Earlier, in an interview with The Economist, Zelensky said that the Western aid cuts could cause an unpredictable reaction from Ukrainian refugees in Europe. According to him, it was impossible to predict how millions of Ukrainians would react to their country being “abandoned”.
