President Zelensky concerned about Trump's statement on resolving the conflict in Ukraine
(Baonghean.vn) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his wariness about the words of Mr. Donald Trump - a candidate in the US presidential election race, about ending the conflict in Ukraine.

According to Ria Novosti, in an interview with British television channel Channel 4 News on January 19, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he was afraid of former US President Donald Trump's statement that he would resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict in just 24 hours.
"What is worrying is that Donald Trump has mentioned it publicly. That means he will try to implement his idea, even if it does not serve our interests," the Ukrainian president said.
Previously, in March 2023, Mr. Donald Trump made a statement affirming that he could end this war within 24 hours. At that time, in response to the former US President, leader Volodymyr Zelensky asked Mr. Trump to "think carefully before speaking" about ending the conflict quickly, if re-elected.
Donald Trump, who won the Republican primary in Iowa, reiterated on January 16 that he knows "President Putin and President Zelensky very well" and would "bring them to the negotiating table and solve the problem quickly."
Commenting on Mr. Trump's new statements, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that this is too complex an issue that cannot be solved with such a simple solution.
Ukrainian and Western officials are skeptical about Mr. Trump’s statement. Some experts believe that if re-elected, Mr. Trump could cut off US aid to Ukraine, thereby pressuring Ukraine to sit at the negotiating table and make certain concessions to Russia./.
