Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhny outlines 3 key goals of the army in 2024
(Baonghean.vn) - In an article published on CNN (USA), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny presented his vision of the current conflict situation and outlined the main tasks of the Ukrainian army in 2024.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny said that in 2024 Ukraine should focus its efforts on three main areas: first, supplying high-end equipment to the armed forces; second, introducing a new philosophy of warfare, taking into account resource constraints; third, mastering new combat capabilities as quickly as possible.
In his article, General Zaluzhny argues that the main force in today's armed conflicts is unmanned weapons systems, the scope of which is becoming wider and wider.
Listing the difficulties Ukraine is currently facing, General Zaluzhny said that the main reason is the decline in support from key allies, who are facing political tensions of their own. The Ukrainian commander-in-chief also noted the shortage of artillery shells, missiles and weapons for air defense systems, especially in the context of the ongoing hot spots in the Middle East.
General Zaluzhny noted that Russia has a significant advantage over Ukraine in terms of mobilized resources, emphasizing “the inability of Ukrainian state institutions to increase the size of the army.” At the same time, he also mentioned the inability of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex to organize the production of ammunition, which makes the Armed Forces of Ukraine dependent on other countries.
Proposing a way out for the Ukrainian army, Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhny said that it is necessary to equip the entire arsenal with cheap but highly effective drones. Such weapons will help to monitor the situation on the battlefield in real time, at any time of the day and in any weather conditions, conduct reconnaissance, and allow to adjust fire around the clock.
According to Mr. Zaluzhny, this means completely restructuring military operations, "rejecting outdated, stereotypical thinking."
The new tactic of using high-tech means not only brings results on the battlefield, but also serves to "undermine the economic capabilities, isolate and exhaust the opponent. The attacks also have a psychological purpose," the Ukrainian commander-in-chief asserted.
According to Mr. Zaluzhny, the use of UAVs will reduce human losses, reduce dependence on heavy equipment and open up the possibility of conducting sudden large-scale attacks on important infrastructure and communication centers without using expensive missiles or manned aircraft.
In this regard, General Zaluzhny wrote, it is necessary to create a new system for technological re-equipment of the Ukrainian army. According to him, this will take 5 months. This time will be spent on establishing an appropriate organizational structure, recruiting and equipping positions, providing training, establishing support and logistics infrastructure, and developing a doctrinal framework.
Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhny said that the goal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is to seize the moment - to optimize new combat experience, end the conflict and protect Ukraine in the future./.
